Three arrests have been made after a serious assault in a street in Chippenham.
Police responded to reports of a disorder breaking out in Stockwood Road, off Ladyfield Road, at around 10.30pm on Friday evening (6 February).
Approximately ten people were seen to be involved, with one brandishing a metal pole. At least one person sustained serious injuries.
A number of those involved arrived in an Audi, which was swiftly driven away from the scene shortly before the arrival of police officers.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was deployed to search, and the vehicle believed to have been involved was found torched in Haystack Avenue.

Two men and one woman, all aged in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and were taken to Melksham custody for questioning.
The suspects have since been released on conditional bail whilst further enquiries are conducted, Wiltshire Police said.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call 101.
