A man has been named and charged after a woman was found stabbed in Swindon.
Emergency services responded to reports of victim suffering knife wounds at a property off Pinehurst Road at around 9pm on Saturday evening (7 February).
Police raced to the scene with the ambulance service – who treated a woman who was stabbed in the hand.
It later transpired that the knife assault took place in Salisbury, with the victim travelling back to her home in Swindon before calling for help.
Wiltshire Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
The suspect, Michael Sheehan, of Harnham Road, Salisbury, has since been charged with both offences.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on Monday (9 February).
