A driver has been seriously hurt after a car smashed into a stationary lorry on the A303.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision at Wylye at around 1.20pm this afternoon (Thursday).
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene, landing in a field directly alongside a lay-by.
A man, aged in his 30s, sustained serious injuries when a car struck a HGV – which was stationary.
Wiltshire Police said that a driver has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and his next of kin have been informed.
A force spokesperson said: “The A303 was closed in both directions to allow emergency services to attend – although it is expected to reopen shortly.
“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage are asked to call 101 quoting log number 152 of today’s date (08/01).”
