A Wiltshire man has been charged with torturing a dog and assaulting a woman.
Sonnie Kerley was arrested and remanded in Wiltshire Police custody following an incident in Salisbury on Saturday (13 December).
The 35-year-old, of Norfolk Road, West Harnham, faces an allegation of “cruelly torture an animal” – which relates to an attack on a dog.
He also faces an allegation of common assault on a female on the same date.
The defendant is currently in custody and is due to be produced at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday).
