A Swindon man accused of sexual assault has elected a judge and jury trial.
Rajbir Singh appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (4 November).
The 40-year-old, of Ferndale Road, pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault of a woman – which is alleged to have happened in May 2025.
District Judge Joanna Dickens said the case could remain at the magistrates’ court – however, the defendant elected a judge and jury trial at the crown court.
Cases are only sent to the crown court when they are deemed too serious for magistrates, but defendants can also choose where their trial is held.
Singh was released on bail to attend Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing 5 December.
