Police have launched an investigation after a Range Rover was seen going wrong down the A417 near Cirencester earlier this month.
It happened at around 4.40pm on Thursday 16 October, close to The Highwayman Inn.
The vehicle was reported travelling the wrong way on the northbound carriageway.
Further calls were made to police as the car continued into oncoming traffic towards Cirencester.
No collisions were reported, but officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident and has not yet come forward.
They are also seeking dashcam footage from motorists who were in the area at the time.
