UPDATE: Two women fighting for their lives after head-on crash near Lacock
A serious head-on crash involving a minibus and a car has shut the A350 in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the busy route near Chippenham at around 9.15 this morning (Tuesday).
The incident involved a grey SUV and a Wiltshire Council-licenced private hire minibus in the Notton area, around 250 metres from the junction for Whitehall Garden Centre.
Great Western Air Ambulance were tasked alongside three ambulance crews, two fire crews and numerous police units.
The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 50s, and a passenger in the minibus, a woman aged in her 40s, have both been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the taxi has also been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road is closed in both directions between Lackham and Lacock. It is likely to remain closed until late this evening.
