Fire crews are currently dealing with a blaze at Swindon Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Darby Close, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, at around 11.40am this morning (Friday).
Firefighters from Swindon, Westlea and Stratton are on scene.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently dealing with a fire at a household recycling centre on Cheney Industrial Estate, Swindon.
“We were called at 11:41am today and have four fire appliances in attendance, from Swindon, Westlea and Stratton x 2 along with a support vehicle from Swindon.”
UPDATE 1.10PM: Swindon Borough Council says the fire is out and appointments will continue.
A spokesperson said: “A small fire broke out at our waste depot, located next to the recycling centre in Cheney Manor, earlier today.
“The recycling centre itself was unaffected by the fire which has since been extinguished.
“We’re now working with the fire service to investigate the cause of the fire.
“The site has since reopened and tip bookings for this afternoon are unaffected. If you had a valid booking and were turned away during the incident you can return this afternoon.”
