A driver has crashed through the wall of a car park outside a shop in Chippenham.
Police were called to a road traffic collision at Sainsbury’s in Station Road at around 6.20pm on Friday evening (10 October).
Citroen C4 smashed into a brick wall, demolishing a section of it. Rubble went flying across the footpath – but nobody is believed to have been injured.
One witness said it was “chaos” when they passed the scene. Police were speaking to the male driver, who reportedly appeared shaken by events.
It’s understood that the driver was breathalysed by officers, and no arrests were made.
The cause of the crash isn’t clear at this stage. It’s also not known if the driver will face prosecution over the incident.
