A man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences after police stopped a car in Westbury.
The vehicle, an Audi A4, was pulled over in Station Road due to concerns about the manner of driving on Sunday evening (12 October).
Officers suspected the driver was under the influence of drugs and requested a roadside drugs wipe test, but he failed to provide a sample.
While being arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen for analysis, the man attempted to flee.
During the incident, one officer sustained a wrist injury while trying to detain him.
Further checks revealed the car was not insured, and a large quantity of cannabis was found inside the vehicle.
The suspect, a man aged in his 30s from the Westbury area, was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide, drug driving, driving with no insurance, being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, and assaulting an officer.
He remains in custody at Melksham Police Station for questioning.
