A young boy has been seriously injured after running into the path of a car in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Cricklade Road shortly before 4.15pm on Sunday afternoon (12 October).
A car hit a three-year-old boy near the junction for Edinburgh Street, leaving him with a broken leg.
He was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, with the road closed for around four hours as police awaited the results of the severity of his injury.
Thankfully, the injury is not described as life-changing and the road was open by 8.30pm.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the driver of the car involved stopped at the scene. No arrests were made.
It’s understood the child ran into the path of the car – leaving the driver unable to stop in time to avoid the collision.
