Multiple arrests have been made after a man suffered a stab wound to the neck during a disorder in Trowbridge.

Emergency services were called to Bramley Lane, on the Longfield estate, at around 7.25pm on Wednesday evening (1 October).

A man, aged in his 30s, sustained a serious wound to his neck.

The casualty was rushed to the Royal United Hopsital in Bath for treatment. His injuries aren’t said to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Wiltshire Police said that a “number of people” were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

The force also revealed that those involved in the disorder were known to one another, and claim there was no risk to the wider public.

Bramley Lane was cordoned off as a crime scene, as was Brown Street – where it’s understood the victim was treated by medics.

Detective Inspector Tom Straker said: “We appreciate the concern this incident may cause, however please be assured that this has taken place between people who know each other and there was no wider threat to the public.

“A man has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and we have arrested a number of men in order to establish the circumstances behind the assault.

“A scene has been set up to allow for an investigation to be carried out and there will likely be an increased policing presence in the area.

“If you have any concerns then please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our officers.”
