The organisers of the popular Emergency Services Show have wished an exhibitor who was attacked by a police dog at the event on Sunday a ‘speedy recovery’.
The German Shepherd somehow became t loose before biting its victim, a man in his 40s, who was treated by paramedics for injuries to his arm which required hospital treatment.
It’s believed that the exhibitor was in an area closed off to the public when it happened.
Chris Harvey, chairman of the show, said: “The Emergency Services Show is aware of an incident at the show today involving an exhibitor being bitten by a police dog.
“The incident is being investigated by Wiltshire Police to determine how it happened.
“Although the injury is not believed to be serious, the shows committee would like to wish the gentleman a speedy recovery.”
Wiltshire Police has apologised to the man, and made him aware of their complaints procedure. The force has also opened an internal investigation into the incident.
