A woman was left bloodied in an assault at her home in Bradford on Avon today, ten days into the coronavirus lockdown.

Police were called to the disturbance in Bancroft at around 1.10pm this afternoon after the victim ran out into the street causing neighbours some concern, prompting a call an emergency call.

South Western Ambulance Service sent an ambulance to the scene after the woman, understood to be in her 30s, suffered at least one wound to the head leaving her covered in blood.

A man, in his 20s, who lives at the same address was arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) and is in custody.

Later that afternoon police officers carried out door-to-door enquiries into the assault in search of witnesses.
