A Wiltshire woman’s dog was found malnourished after months of neglect.
At Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (7 May), Millie Williams was found guilty of failing to ensure her French Bulldog’s needs were met.
The hearing was held in the defendant’s absence, after she did not turn up. Following her conviction, an arrest warrant was issued by District Judge Apted.
The court heard that the 38-year-old, of Mill Stream Approach in Salisbury, locked the pet – named Persia – in a small cage covered in faeces and urine.
She also failed to provide her with food and water, which resulted in malnourishment.
The offence took place between 16 December 2023 and 24 June 2024.
Police have now been tasked with locating and arresting Williams, and will likely remand her in custody until the next available court sitting.
