A Wiltshire Police officer has admitted having 1,590 child abuse images.

Callum Denley pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).

The 20-year-old, of Old Alexander Road, Malmesbury, collected 766 Category A images – which involve penetrative sexual activity.

300 of the images were graded Category B, and the remaining 524 were graded Category C. The offences occurred between January 2020 and December 2024.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to two further offences – one of possessing 56 prohibited images of children and another of possessing an extreme pornographic image – showing a dog licking a vagina.

The case was deemed too serious for the magistrates’ court, with Denley due to be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on 2 May. He has been released on bail.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the defendant resigned as police constable – after being immediately suspended by the force when his offending came to light.
