Wiltshire’s fire chief has spoken of his devastation following the deaths of two firefighters at the former RAF Bicester site.
The fatal incident occurred on Thursday evening (15 May), with emergency services rushing to a blaze at Bicester Motion in Oxfordshire.
Two firefighters from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service lost their lives in the line of duty. A member of the public also died during the same incident.

Two other fire service personnel were injured and are currently being treated in hospital.
Chief Fire Officer Andy Cole, of Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, issued a statement today (Friday) in response to the tragedy.
He said: “I am devastated to hear of the tragic loss of two firefighters and a member of the public at the former Bicester RAF site last night.
“I am also deeply saddened to hear that two colleagues were injured at the same incident.
“The thoughts of everyone at Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service are with the families, friends, colleagues and all staff at Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, as well as those affected in the wider Fire and Rescue community.”
