Wiltshire Council is on the hunt for the owner of a malnourished dog.
The male crossbreed was discovered on Southampton Road, Salisbury in poor condition – and is now receiving veterinary treatment.
The dog is microchipped, but the details are unregistered, making it difficult for the dog warden to track his owner down.
Anyone who recognises the dog or has information that could help identify the owner is asked to email [email protected], quoting reference 572932.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Council said: “This dog is in poor condition and we are appealing for any information that could help us find his owner.
“He is receiving all the care and treatment he needs at this time.
“We are not currently looking for rescue space or rehoming assistance and will not be responding to enquiries regarding this.”
The owner must provide personal ID, proof of address and sufficient proof of ownership, as well as pay all relevant fees before the dog can be collected.
