Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed on the M4 for a medical emergency today.
Traffic was held by police in both directions between junction 18 and 19 for around 20 minutes at 12.45pm, while critical care medics attended the serious medical incident.
The road was reopened at around 1.05pm.
