Investigators remain at the scene of a serious assault in a residential road in Swindon tonight.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 4pm today in Corfe Road, Toothill.

Eyewitnesses told Wiltshire 999s that there was an altercation between two men in the street. Both males are thought to have suffered injuries.

It’s believed a knife was used in the assault, however this is yet to be confirmed by Wiltshire Police.

A car parked near the scene of the incident was dented and covered in blood during the altercation.

A woman was also treated by paramedics at the scene. She suffered only minor injuries.

Acting Detective Sergeant Stephanie England said: “We believe there were several people in Corfe Road at the time of the incident and shortly after and we would like to hear from them.

“We would also like to reassure the local community that there is no wider risk to members of the public”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180032674.
