Two homeless men have been arrested following a street robbery in Swindon.

Police were called to Station Industrial Estate on Station Road at around 5.30am this morning, following reports of an incident having occurred outside a mechanics’ garage.

A 45-year-old worker had been assaulted by the men, and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Money and some personal items were stolen during the attack, police confirmed.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A 32-year-old local man and a 31-year-old local man were arrested on suspicion of robbery – both are currently in custody.”
