Two Devizes teens have been arrested after a pursuit and crash in a stolen car.

A grey Jaguar F-Type convertible was taken during a burglary at an address in Highfield Rise, Shrewton, in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

The theft was reported to the police at around 10.30am, and officers later located the vehicle travelling along the A36 through Westbury.

The driver failed to stop for officers and a pursuit was authorised. The vehicle was chased onto the A350 southbound and its tyres were stung.

Soon after the vehicle – which was also being followed by the National Police Air Service helicopter – was involved in a road traffic collision.

Two young males from Devizes were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, theft of a motor vehicle and burglary.

One suspect is currently in Melksham custody assisting officers with their investigation. The second remains in hospital at this time but is not seriously injured.
