Two men were arrested following an assault in Swindon town centre at the weekend.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, suffered injuries in the attack when he was kicked and punched multiple times over a period of ‘several minutes’.

It happened outside McDonald’s in Wharf Green at around 8.40pm on Sunday.

Two males, aged 38 and 40, were arrested in connection with the assault and released on conditional bail as Wiltshire Police continue their investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We believe there may have been two witnesses to the incident who also tried to intervene.

“If you think this may have been you, or if you witnessed the assault take place, we’d really like to hear from you as you may be able to assist with our enquiries.

“Please call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200065227. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The victim didn’t suffer any serious injuries in the assault.
