A teenage boy has been stabbed after he and a friend were approached by an ‘aggressive’ man with a knife in Frome this morning (Saturday).
The suspect allegedly walked up to the pair in Culverhill at around 5am, and threatened them with the blade.
Wiltshire 999s understands that the victim, aged 16, and his friend fled the scene. When the incident was reported to police, the victim believed he was unharmed.
However, a short time later, as he arrived in a safe place – he checked his body to find a knife wound to his shoulder.
The victim was taken to hospital to receive medical attention – but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing, the force said.
A 41-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and remains in custody for questioning.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers remain in the area and are conducting enquiries.
“There will also be high-visibility reassurance patrols taking place and we urge any members of the public with any concerns or questions to speak with one of our officers.
