A park in Swindon has been closed by police after a body was discovered near the lake.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Queen’s Park at around 7.30am today (Tuesday).
An ambulance crew and an ambulance operations officer attended alongside police officers, but the man was pronounced deceased.
Detectives from Swindon CID were tasked and carried out enquiries in a woodland at the rear of the lake.
Queen’s Park remained open earlier – but according to a local school, it has since been closed at the gates. It’s understood that forensic investigation work is ongoing.
In a letter to parents, a spokesperson for Holy Rood Catholic Primary School wrote: “For your information Queens Park has been closed.
“Please allow more time for your journey if this is the way you collect your child.”
It’s not yet clear whether Wiltshire Police are treating the death as suspicious. The man’s age has not yet been confirmed.
