The Swindon to Marlborough road is closed 12 hours after a serious crash.

Emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle road traffic collision on the A346 between Chiseldon and Ogbourne St George at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (26 November).

At 7am this morning (Wednesday) the road remained closed to motorists by the police – and it’s not yet known when it’ll reopen.

It’s understood a number of vehicles were involved in the incident, with a van leaving the carriageway into a field and overturning.

Protracted road closures following crashes usually mean a forensic collision investigation is being carried out – indicating that someone was significantly injured or killed.

Further details are unclear at this stage.
