An eight-year-old boy from Swindon has died after falling from a hotel balcony.
The youngster was rushed to hospital with significant injuries following the incident in Ibiza at around 8.30pm on 27 May, according to The Sun.
Emergency services were called to the Aparthotel Vibra Bay in San Antonio, where it’s claimed the boy fell from a balcony on the third floor.
According to a local news website, he suffered a fractured skull, subdural haematoma, and cerebral oedema, along with a broken jaw and chest trauma.
Despite treatment in intensive care, medics were unable to save the boy – and he later died.
Wiltshire 999s understands that the boy attended Badbury Park Primary School, and his fellow pupils have been informed of his death.
In a letter to parents on 17 June, a spokesperson wrote: “Mrs Dance has had the sad task of informing the pupils of the death of a pupil in Willow Tree class.
“He was a popular member of the school community and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
The Sun reports that police are treating the fall as an accident. However, further details are unclear.
