Search teams are scouring the River Avon after a young man’s disappearance.
Sebastian Sailes, aged in his early 20s, was reported missing after he failed to return home from a night out in Chippenham on Thursday (27 February).
He is a white male, described as about 5ft 10in, with brown hair in a fringe, has a slim build and was last seen wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans and a beige fur lined jacket.
“The fact that he has gone missing is out of character and his family are extremely concerned for his welfare”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
Police say he was last seen at The Black Horse pub in New Road, but information shared by his mother on social media states he was last seen in the Lovers Walk area.
Today (Saturday), the Severn Area Rescue Association – known as SARA – have deployed a boat on the River Avon. It’s understood boats were on the water last night too.
A SARA boat, from Sharpness Lifeboat Station, has been operating for most of the day as specialist crews scour the fast-flowing river as searches for Sebastian continue.
Dozens of Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers, alongside teams from other search charities, are also providing assistance on foot.
