A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing which took place in Pewsey.

Damion Mark Powell, 29, of High Street, Ramsbury, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Salisbury Crown Court on 9 November.

The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained an injury to his abdomen in the incident, which took place at around 9.30pm on Olympian Road on 3 October.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Det Sgt Toni Nugent said: “We remain keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or was driving by at the time and may have dash cam footage of what happened.

“We’re extremely grateful to everybody who has come forward to us so far and helped us progress our investigation.

“The public’s assistance in times like this is absolutely vital and makes a huge difference.”
