Members of the public have rushed to defend uniformed Wiltshire police officers who have been spotted on a lunch break in a Swindon Burger King.

A photograph of around six officers queuing at the fast food outlet today has been posted on community Facebook group, Marlborough Notice Board, with the caption: “We found where Wiltshire Police all are….Burger King lol”.

But, the public were quick to start defending the hard-working cops.

Hannah Smith said: “Maybe having their lunch break? Do you get a lunch break at work?”

Gee Cross said: “Everyone has to eat! Not Robocops.”

In a rage, Karol Green posted: “Crikey… God forbid they take a meal break ffs. What a stupid, disrespectful post.”

Charlotte Emily Toombs wrote: “Happy hardworking chapps taking a break.”

Another local, Pamela Withers said: “It’s reassuring to see a public presence.”
