Police raced to a Wetherspoon pub in Swindon just before midnight following a disorder.

More than a dozen police officers were at The Dockle Farmhouse in Bridge End Road at around 11.30pm last night (Friday) after a fight broke out.

A riot van (formally known as a Public Order Vehicle) and British Transport Police dog unit were attending the incident. Officers could be seen walking alongside the riot van escorting a group of intoxicated young males away from the pub.

One man, overheard talking to friends, said he heard a glass smash as a result of being thrown and a disorder ensued immediately afterwards.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A 20-year-old man was assaulted and sustained an injury to his lip.

”Enquiries are ongoing.
