Police on ‘proactive’ patrol in Devizes have arrested a suspected drug dealer.
Officers were out and about in the town when they spotted a silver Ford Focus in the Wellington Drive at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (20 May).
Believing the driver was ‘acting suspiciously’, the vehicle was stopped.
At the roadside, enquiries led to the driver – a man – being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
He was also arrested for driving without a valid licence and without insurance.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This action reflects our ongoing commitment to keeping the community safe by tackling drug-related crime and ensuring road safety.
“We encourage members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour or concerns in their area.
“Your information plays a vital role in helping us take action and keep Devizes a safe place for all.”
