Murder arrest after man dies after sustaining ‘serious injury’ in Cheltenham

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following a death in Cheltenham.

Emergency services were called to an address in St Paul’s Road at around 1.30pm today (Wednesday).

A man was found to have sustained a serious injury, and despite the best efforts of medics, died at the scene.

Officers have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “A scene guard is in place at an address in Cheltenham after police responded to a report a man had sustained a serious injury.

“Emergency services were called around 1.30pm today, Wednesday 14 December, to the property on St Paul’s Road. Despite the best efforts of those providing medical assistance at the scene, the man was pronounced deceased.

“Officers are in the early stages of an investigation and are appealing for anyone who has not already spoken to police to make contact with them.”
