A motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash in Swindon.

The incident happened on A361 Highworth Road southbound – near the B&Q depot lay-by – at around 2.30pm yesterday, Saturday 8 July.

The 22-year-old, named locally as Blain Harper, was riding an orange Honda at the time.

He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he remains in an induced coma and on a ventilator due to a bleed on the brain.

It is not known if another vehicle was involved in the collision at this time, although a family member says he collided with a lamppost.

Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to, or has dashcam footage of, the crash to come forward, contacting PC 2512 Windsor of Tri-force Roads Policing by calling 101.
