A biker has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the B4040.

Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision near Cricklade at around 10am today (1 March).

A tractor and a motorbike were involved in the incident near Blakehill Farm Nature Reserve.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked to the scene, landing nearby before transferring the casualty to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The road, between Cricklade and Minety, is likely to remain closed for several hours for collision investigation work.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The B4040 near Blakehill Farm Nature Reserve is currently closed in both directions following a collision involving a tractor and a motorcyclist.

“Officers were called to the scene at 10am this morning.
