Three men have been arrested after three girls reported being raped at a house in Swindon.
Officers responded to multiple reports of serious sexual assaults at a house in Ratcoombe Road, Peatmoor, on Saturday night (31 May).
Three suspects, men aged 18, 20, and 24, were arrested on suspicion of rape. They have since been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Three teenage girls – all aged under 16 – reported being raped. Wiltshire Police say they are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Police cordoned off the property as a crime scene while forensic work was carried out. Officers remained guarding it for most of Sunday (1 June).
A neighbour reported seeing “loads” of police arriving, before they searched and seized a car parked outside the address.
Another local spotted a “big police presence”, with a man arrested and “stuff dumped on the floor around the corner taken for forensics”.
DS Craig Rathbone of Swindon CID said: “We are taking this incident incredibly seriously and have already made three arrests in connection with it.
“I appreciate the community concern this incident will cause, however please be assured it is being treated as a targeted incident that occurred within a property in the course of one evening.
“The victims involved are all being supported by specially trained officers and our enquiries are ongoing.”
