Two men have been arrested on suspicion of hare coursing after police responded to reports of a vehicle involved in illegal activity near Devizes.
Wiltshire Police officer were called to farmland on Friday (13 June) following reports of two males seen hare coursing in the Rushall area.
A vehicle suspected to be involved was spotted by police and made off before being located shortly afterwards at a nearby garage.
A man from Cornwall and a man from Norfolk were stopped and found with numerous items and dogs commonly associated with hare coursing.
They were arrested on suspicion of being equipped for hare coursing under Section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
Both individuals have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
With grass being cut following the return of good weather, police are reminding landowners to review security measures for their fields and take steps to deter vehicles from accessing vulnerable areas.
