A manhunt is underway in Swindon after a road traffic collision this afternoon (Saturday).

Emergency services were called to reports of a blue BMW overturning in a dramatic crash on Dunwich Drive, Toothill, at around 4pm.

A bus shelter was completely destroyed in the incident, and it’s claimed the driver crawled out of the window and wandered off uninjured.

Firearms officers are in attendance, and have deployed a drone in a bid to catch the suspect.

It’s not yet clear if anyone was hurt, or if there was more than one occupant within the car.

The road is open, but could be partially blocked for the recovery of the damaged vehicle.

Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
