A manhunt is continuing after two alleged sex offenders gave police the slip.

More than a dozen officers swarmed Neston, near Corsham, this morning (Saturday) following a sighting of Adam Hastings and Reece Upton in the area.

The pair disappeared from Newbury, in Berkshire, on Thursday 13 June – and Thames Valley Police have since confirmed they are wanted over alleged sex offences.

The force said both 28-year-olds are suspected of committing a number of sexual offences against a teenage boy. The child is receiving specialist support.

Since leaving the neighbouring county, they’ve been seen in Chippenham and Devizes. But over the past two days, they’ve been seen in Neston – sparking urgent searches.

At around 10am this morning, officers raced to the village following a sighting of one or both of the males. The police helicopter, from Oxfordshire, was also deployed.

A hunt got underway immediately, with the support of a dog unit. The focus was the open space and woodland between Church Rise and Jaggards Lane.

Several units were parked in Church Rise, while many others circulated. The police helicopter was overhead for nearly two hours – and attended the Bristol base to re-fuel midway.

Despite their best efforts, nobody was located.

The search later moved to land in the vicinity of Westmead Open Space, off Pewsham Way, Chippenham – but officers have since left the area.

Anyone who sights either male, or has information about their whereabouts, should call Wiltshire Police on 999 quoting log 86 of 21 June.

The force has warned locals not to approach them, but contact police immediately.
