A young man was seriously injured in a crash in Swindon – as his bike landed in a garden.
The road traffic collision, which involved a KTM 125 and a blue Nissan Qashqai, happened in Okus Road at around 3.35pm on Tuesday (10 June).
The motorcycle impacted the car on the junction for Curie Avenue, before hitting a wall and coming to rest in the front garden of a nearby home.
A 19-year-old man, who was riding the bike, sustained significant injuries – and was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
In an update, Wiltshire Police said the casualty’s wounds are “potentially life-changing”. He remains in hospital at this time, it’s understood.
A forensic collision investigation was carried out by specially-trained officers, with a drone scanning the scene from above and 3D mapping carried out.
The road was closed for around 12 hours while police dealt with the incident, the investigative work and the recovery of the vehicles involved.

“We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision between a motorcycle and a car on Okus Road, Swindon, this afternoon (10/06).
“At around 3.35pm, we received a report of a collision between a KTM 125 and a Nissan Qashqai on Okus Road at the junction with Curie Avenue.
“The rider of the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
“The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, was uninjured.
“The road remains closed in both directions to allow for enquiries to take place. It is likely to remain closed until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
