A man’s been hospitalised following a serious assault in Trowbridge.

The serious incident took place in Duke Street – near the Wiltshire Times’ offices – on Saturday 19 August between 9.50pm and 10pm.

A man was assaulted by unknown offender(s), sustaining head and chest injuries in the attack. He was taken to Bath Royal United Hospital for treatment.

He is currently in hospital in a stable condition.

Det Sgt Adam Fleetwood-Brown said: “We’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around this time on Saturday evening.

“This is a central part of town and someone should have witnessed something – if that was you, please come forward.”
