A man has reportedly been stabbed in a disorder on a Royal Wootton Bassett estate.

Emergency services responded to an attack in Daisy Brook, off Cloatley Crescent, at around 10.45pm on Thursday evening (12 June).

A man, aged in his 20s, sustained serious injuries – and was rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Despite being asked, Wiltshire Police has not confirmed whether or not the man’s injuries were inflicted with a blade.

Several local residents claim the victim was stabbed in the chest. The force did state that his injuries are not being described as life-threatening.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inflecting grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody for questioning.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information relating to this incident. If you can help, call 101 quoting log 54250071686.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 22:49hrs on Thursday 12 June to an incident in Royal Wootton Bassett.

“We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a critical care car to the scene.

“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”

A house was cordoned off as a crime scene, and a police unit was also at the incident.
