A man has died in a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A350 near Trowbridge.

Emergency services were called to the major crash between Yarnbrook and Heywood around 9.20pm yesterday (4 April).

It involved a Ranger Rover and a Nissan X-Trail, with the Range Rover flipping onto its roof in the incident.

The male driver of the Nissan, which sustained significant front-end damage, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was aged in his 60s.

The man’s next of kin has been informed.

The road remains closed in both directions for collision investigation work, vehicle recovery and road repairs.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Wiltshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now carrying out enquiries and would urge anyone with information, including anyone who may have seen either vehicle shortly beforehand or who may have dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, to make contact.

“You can call the unit directly on 01225 694597 and quote log number 292 of 4 April. You can also email [email protected] including the log number and the date in the email subject.”
