A man has died after a significant emergency response to a house in Cricklade.
999 crews raced to a welfare-related incident at an address in Fairfield, off Lady Mead, at around 12.30pm this afternoon (Thursday).
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was in attendance, with the helicopter landing in a field just several metres from the scene.
At the height of the incident, there were two ambulance crews, three critical care medics, an ambulance operations officer and at least six police officers present.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 60-year-old man was pronounced dead.
Two detectives from Swindon CID attended, carrying out an assessment – and then deeming the death “non-suspicious”.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the man’s next of kin has been informed. “Our thoughts are with them”, a force spokesperson said.
