Man brought down from Swindon car park edge as he threatens to take his own life

A person has been brought down from a car park after threatening to jump this morning.

Police officers were called to the Brunel West Car Park on Farnsby Street in Swindon town centre just before midday following reports of a person on the edge of the building.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called just before midday to concerns for the welfare of a man in the Brunel West car park, Swindon.

“Officers engaged with the man and he has been taken to a place of safety.”

Farnsby Street was closed for an about an hour while police officers dealt with the incident. The road fully reopened to traffic and pedestrians at 12.30pm.
