A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a Swindon wood.
Lawn Woods is currently closed to the public as detectives investigate the serious sexual assault which is said to have happened overnight.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are investigating a serious sexual assault which is alleged to have happened in the area of Lawn Woods in Swindon overnight.
“A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is currently in police custody.
“The victim is being supported and enquiries are currently ongoing.
“It’s believed the victim and suspect are known to each other.
“As part of our investigation we have cordoned off Lawn Woods and would ask members of the public to avoid the area at this time.”
