A man firing an air rifle has sparked an armed police and helicopter response in Salisbury.
Wiltshire Police received a call about a suspect shooting at objects in Gainsborough Close at 11.10pm on Saturday night (28 June).
It’s understood a local woman was nearly hit by a pellet as the man took aim at beer cans and a post box near the SPAR shop.
Firearms officers was tasked, deploying into the area in search of the gunman.
The National Police Air Service helicopter from Oxfordshire was also sent to the incident – tightly circling above the residential road.
It’s believed that the suspect involved was not located. The force confirmed that nobody was injured, and an investigation is underway.
