Major railway delays after person hit by train near Bath forcing cancellations

There are major railway delays after a person was hit by a train near Bath. 

Emergency services were called to the incident near Corston just before 1pm today (17 June).

All train services due to operate between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads are affected – with many delayed but due to be diverted around the incident.

Services between London and Bristol will no call at Chippenham or Bath.

A Great Western Railway spokesperson said: “Due to a person hit by a train between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa the line is blocked.

“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 15:00 17/06.”
