There are lengthy traffic delays in north and west Swindon following a crash.

Emergency services are attending the scene in Purton Road at around 4pm today (30 September) following a road traffic collision.

The incident is believed to be between Thamesdown Drive and Mead Way, causing traffic to back up in both directions.

Thamesdown Drive southbound, Purton Road, Mead Way and Akers Way are all affected by very slow or standstill traffic.

Some motorists report being stuck in standstill traffic in the area for more than 30 minutes.

It’s not clear whether the road is completely blocked or just a single lane is closed.
