A road in Wroughton is blocked as fire crews respond to a gas leak.

Inverary Road is closed after Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) were called to reports of a gas main being damaged this morning (13 April).

Gas can be smelt across some parts of Wroughton, and Wiltshire Police are also in attendance.

In a statement, DWFRS said: “We were called to a gas leak in Wroughton, Swindon just after 10am today.

“We are assisting with evacuating a number local residents affected and a cordon has been put in place.

“Crews are working to assist other agencies on scene.”
